You want to set yourself up for this, 10 book marketing campaigns, - Booklinker February 2026 Broadcast #2

2/20/2026

Hello!

What are you doing to set yourself up for success? That seems like an easy question, but when you a take moment to think about it, are you really doing everything you can to ensure your success with your books?

Are you a stay at home parent with 4 kids under ten? Do you have a long commute to and from work so when you get home you are exhausted? Are you an empty nester who works caring for an aging parent? There are so many variables to everyone's life, there is no one answer to this question about success.

But, regardless of your circumstances there are steps you can take to set yourself up for success.

First, set a long term goal and smaller goals to lead you in the correct direction.

Ex. LONG TERM: I am going to write and publish 2 books and increase my newsletter followers from 500 to 1,000 over the next 12 months.
SHORT TERM: This month I will write for 10 hours each week and spend 2 hours each week setting up newsletter swaps and joining list building giveaways.

Next, be realistic about the time you have available. I'm going to say this one more time because it's important...be realistic about your time.

If you are a stay-at-home parent with 4 kids, and 2 aren't in school yet, your time is going to be limited. I'm 90% sure the above scenario will not work for you. And the thing is, that's fine. Create a plan that is realistic for you, that will set you up for success.

It could be that you want to build a solid newsletter habit over 6 months. Your plan is to send out 1 newsletter per month and do 4 newsletters swaps with other authors for each one. You will dedicate 1.5 hours each week for this.

Whatever your scenario is, when you accomplish what you set out to do, then you celebrate. Buy yourself an ice-cream, read a book, dance around your kitchen, it doesn't matter, just acknowledge that you did it.

You not only reached your goals, but you set yourself up for success!

And that my author friends, is better than doing too much and constantly falling short. Which does not build a sustainable career, it breeds constant disappointment and burnout.

What is one thing you do (or plan to do) to set yourself up for success? Let me know.

Happy Marketing!

There is one area of cleaning most of us forget about and no it's not washing your windows. I'm talking about a spring cleaning for your books. One book link, Every store Booklinker.com 3/22/2026 Hello, "Just Do it." Nike is definitely on to something here. It's short and to the point. There really is no way to misunderstand the statement. It's straightforward and requires action. But notice one thing. The word "all" is no where to be found. It is not "Just Do It All." By adding that one small word, the phrase becomes instantly overwhelming. I've seen many authors (including myself) dive head first into a "Just Do It All" kind of...
