One book link, Every store Booklinker.com 09/12/2026 Hello authors, Currently I’m getting ready to launch my 6th Kickstarter campaign with my coauthor. For the past couple of years, we have been using Kickstarter as an early marketing strategy for a new book or series. When I’ve talked with other authors about Kickstarter, most think you would only use it if you are trying to raise thousands of dollars. The truth is you don’t. Our campaigns have ranged from $100 to $1,000. Our goals with these campaigns are to reach a new audience who enjoys supporting authors, get attention for our backlist, and raise money to cover some of our costs, like editing and covers. What makes Kickstarter a unique crowdfunding platform is that it’s not just asking for donations. People who back a campaign of any kind get “rewards” for their money. With author campaigns, the rewards might include books, special editions, audiobooks, and book-related merch. If you’ve been curious about trying Kickstarter, here are five things I’ve learned from running campaigns: 1. Start with a small, achievable goal. 2. Consider an all-digital campaign. 3. Give readers a reason to back you now. 4. Don’t wait until launch day to talk about it. 5. Think beyond the money you raise. Want to see what this looks like in action?Take a look at our current campaign here. It's in the pre-launch phase until September 15th. Follow it now, and you'll get notified the moment it goes live, when you'll be able to see the rewards we're offering, our story, and how the campaign is structured. Want to learn more?I did a full webinar called Fund Your Books with Kickstarter Without Going Big, where I walk through what we’ve learned from our campaigns, including setting goals, choosing rewards, marketing your campaign, and using Kickstarter as part of a larger author marketing strategy. The full webinar is available inside The Book Marketing Lab. You can get your first month for 50% off with code LABTEST50 making it just $4.50. There’s no monthly commitment, and you can cancel anytime.https://www.thebookmarketinglab.com/ Have you ever run a Kickstarter campaign? Let me know how it went. Happy Marketing! Kerrie Flanagan Free WebinarBook marketing doesn't have to be expensive, but it does need to be intentional. Whether you have $25 or $100 to spend each month, the key is knowing where your money will have the greatest impact. Drawing on more than 25 years in publishing, Kerrie Flanagan will show you how to make every marketing dollar count. You'll learn how to prioritize your budget, choose the right marketing tools, combine free and paid promotions, and easily measure what's actually working so you can confidently decide where to invest next. P.S. To get the replay, you must register. A quick shout out to Dale Roberts, who's been mentioning Booklinker in his newsletter and has been a genuine supporter of ours without us ever having to ask. If you're not already subscribed to his Substack, Self-Publishing with Dale, it's worth adding to your list. Each week he rounds up what's actually changing in the industry (KDP and Amazon policy shifts, platform updates, AI news) and mixes in hard-earned lessons from his own years as an author: what he'd do differently on reviews, marketing, print quality, building a backlist, that kind of thing. I look forward to it every week. He also has a free Bestseller Book Launch Checklist that's already been used by over 10,000 authors. Subscribe here: https://selfpub.substack.com Thanks, Dale. We appreciate you. Industry News & Articles ✍🏽

One book link, Every store Booklinker.com 09/25/2026 Hello authors, Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days are October 6–7. Are you doing anything to take advantage of them? You don't have to create a huge promotion or spend a lot of money. But with more people shopping on Amazon and looking for deals, this can be a good opportunity to put a little extra attention on your books. And you still have time to put something together. Here are a few ideas: Discount a book. Consider lowering the price of the...
One book link, Every store Booklinker.com 08/12/2026 Hello authors, You are not my competition. As many of you know, in addition to my work at Booklinker, I'm also an author. I publish sci-fi and fantasy, which means some of you are trying to reach the exact same readers I am. And that's a good thing. Readers don't finish a book they love and think, "Well, I guess I won't be reading any more." They want another book. And another one after that. There are plenty of readers to go around, and...
One book link, Every store Booklinker.com 08/12/2026 Hello authors, There is always another book marketing strategy to try. A new social media platform, a different type of ad, a promotion everyone is talking about. The list never ends. But before you add something else to your marketing to-do list, I want you to stop and look at what you're already doing. I've talked before about how trying to do everything can lead to burnout. More marketing isn't necessarily better marketing. Sometimes the...
