One book link, Every store Booklinker.com 08/12/2026 Hello authors, There is always another book marketing strategy to try. A new social media platform, a different type of ad, a promotion everyone is talking about. The list never ends. But before you add something else to your marketing to-do list, I want you to stop and look at what you're already doing. I've talked before about how trying to do everything can lead to burnout. More marketing isn't necessarily better marketing. Sometimes the better choice is to figure out what's working and do more of that. Let me help you get started. Write down 3–5 things you're currently doing to market your books. Maybe that's sending a newsletter, running Facebook ads, doing newsletter swaps, posting on TikTok or participating in promotions. Now look at each one and ask yourself: Is it working? Is it bringing you sales, clicks, new subscribers, engagement or whatever result you're hoping for? Is it worth it? Is the result worth the time and/or money you're putting into it? Do you want to keep doing it? This one matters too. If you absolutely hate doing something, chances are you aren't going to stick with it. Now, based on your answers, decide what you should KEEP, ADJUST or PAUSE. Then, for the next 30 days, focus on 1–3 things from your KEEP or ADJUST list. Don't add anything new. Instead, see what happens when you put more of your marketing time and energy into what's already showing potential. At the end of the month, look at your results again. Then you can decide what's next. Now I want to hear from you! What ONE thing are you going to focus on for the next 30 days? Hit reply and let me know. I'm excited to see what you are choosing. And once you tell me, it's official. You're committed for the next 30 days. 😊 Happy Marketing! Kerrie Flanagan Free Webinar ThursdayI’m excited about our next Booklinker webinar because we’re doing something a little different. Bring your questions and we’ll share our perspectives, ideas, and practical advice. And we won’t leave everything up to the Q&A. Lee and I will also share five marketing strategies we think every author should know, with ideas you can put to work no matter your genre, experience level, or budget. Come with your questions. You’ll leave with answers, new ideas, and a clearer sense of what to focus on next.
P.S. To get the replay you must register. What One Author is TryingIn my last Broadcast, I asked what you were doing to market your books. Author Anthony Hedger shared an idea I thought was clever enough to pass along. Anthony had magnetic signs made for both sides of his van promoting his horror books, The Silver Bow Trilogy. The signs are simple: IF YOU DARE "IF YOU DARE" is the hook to catch someone's attention, followed by what he writes and where they can find him. Here's the interesting part. During the first month he had the signs on his van, his website received more than 250 views, a big increase from his normal traffic. The signs are always working for him. People can see them when he's driving, sitting in traffic, parked at the supermarket or even when the van is sitting in his driveway. Anthony hasn't seen additional book sales yet, but it's still early and he feels it's worth continuing. Thanks for sharing your creative marketing idea, Anthony! Industry News & Articles ✍🏽

One book link, Every store Booklinker.com 09/12/2026 Hello authors, Currently I’m getting ready to launch my 6th Kickstarter campaign with my coauthor. For the past couple of years, we have been using Kickstarter as an early marketing strategy for a new book or series. When I’ve talked with other authors about Kickstarter, most think you would only use it if you are trying to raise thousands of dollars. The truth is you don’t. Our campaigns have ranged from $100 to $1,000. Our goals with...
One book link, Every store Booklinker.com 08/12/2026 Hello authors, You are not my competition. As many of you know, in addition to my work at Booklinker, I'm also an author. I publish sci-fi and fantasy, which means some of you are trying to reach the exact same readers I am. And that's a good thing. Readers don't finish a book they love and think, "Well, I guess I won't be reading any more." They want another book. And another one after that. There are plenty of readers to go around, and...
